BLISS ACCESSORIES & GIFTS TO HOST BREAST CANCER FUNDRAISER
Dublin, OH – Bliss Accessories & Gifts will host a special event on July 11-13 to raise funds for breast cancer research. This event will benefit the Vera Bradley Foundation for Breast Cancer where 20% of all proceeds will benefit the Foundation. In addition, throughout Thursday and Friday, the community is invited to help create a Ribbons Wall in celebration and support of all those involved in the breast cancer fight. The Ribbons Wall is a 20 foot live art installation that will be sent to the Vera Bradley Foundation upon the conclusion of the three day event. “We hope that the community will join us by posting the names, pictures, descriptions of loved ones who are currently fighting or who have fought breast cancer. We will have all the materials here for them to celebrate people they know or simply right words of encouragement to all those fighting this disease,” states Bliss owner, Susan Ashley.
The event is open to the public that is invited to bring words of courage, inspiration and strength to share with current and previous breast cancer fighters and survivors. This live art installation, a collaboration between Bliss Accessories & Gifts and Thrive Theory, will be the backdrop to the boutique’s charitable donation to the Vera Bradley Foundation for Breast Cancer.
The event will kick off with a Pajama Party on Thursday, July 11th from 5:30 – 8:30. Women are invited to come dressed in any attire (pajamas are welcome) and will have an opportunity to see the new fall line including Vera Bradley’s new pajamas and enjoy food, fun and many free give-aways including Vera Bradley luggage. The creation of the Ribbons Wall will start that evening. On Friday, Bliss and Thrive Theory will invite the community to continue to complete the wall, the theme will be “Breakfast in Bed” with food provided by Bruegger’s Bagels and a drawing for a new Vera Bradley comforter set.
Saturday, the event will conclude with the Pink Party from 1:00 – 2:30 and the unveiling of the Ribbons Wall. Bliss owner, Susan Ashley, and Thrive Theory founder, Jenn Bajec, will present the Ribbons Wall and the check from Bliss’s proceeds from the event to the Vera Bradley Foundation Executive Director, Catherine Hill, who will also be speaking at the event.
“We’re delighted that Bliss Accessories & Gifts is raising funds for breast cancer research,” says Catherine Hill, executive director of the Vera Bradley Foundation for Breast Cancer. “Our Vera Bradley retailers are the perfect ambassadors to help us bring more awareness and support to our corporate cause.”

About the Vera Bradley Foundation for Breast Cancer
The Vera Bradley Foundation for Breast Cancer was founded by Vera Bradley co-founders Barbara Bradley Baekgaard and Patricia Miller in 1998. To date, it has contributed more than $17 million to the world renowned research team in the Indiana University Simon Cancer Center in Indianapolis. The team of researchers at the Vera Bradley Foundation for Breast Cancer Research Laboratories is making significant progress and gaining national recognition for their work in the following areas:
- Detection of cancer long before tumors form.
- Identification of women at high risk for developing breast cancer.
- Breast cancer prevention discoveries.
- Safer and more effective therapies through individualized therapy based on genetics.
- Better treatment of recurrences of breast cancer and prevention of metastasis.
- Enhancing lives of survivors through approaches that improve both length and quality of life.
Impressive sales of the Vera Bradley breast cancer awareness colors generate part of this revenue, but another significant portion is the donors like Bliss Gifts & Accessories and those who support their events. For more information about the Vera Bradley Foundation, visit verabradley.org
About Thrive Theory
Thrive Theory is a line of jewelry and gifts that encourage women & girls to develop and celebrate positive networks (or circles) among themselves, supporting each other’s unique strengths to reach their full potentials. This idea is represented by the Thrive Theory Symbol, which is based on the scientific symbol for female, surrounded by the support of others, with love at the center. Together these graphic elements create a blossom, which conveys the idea that together each one grows stronger and more vibrant.
Thrive Theory was developed by Dublin resident Jenn Bajec, whose background in graphic design, retail and branding led her to develop this line to share a perspective she felt was missing from gift options available for her daughter and herself. The product line includes sterling silver charms of the Thrive Theory Symbol on sterling silver earrings, bracelets and necklaces, which also feature some Swarovski crystals and semi-precious gemstone beads; lead-free pewter lapel pins; and colorfully-patterned mini journals. Retails prices range from $10-20 for pins and journals to over $100 for the sterling bracelets and gemstone necklaces.
Thrive Theory is also available at Hope’s Boutique at the Stephanie Spielman Breast Center, the Dames Bond Marketplace in the Short North, and www.ThriveTheory.com. Thrive Theory is a division of Double N Studios LLC.
